Romans 12:2 reminds us to stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around us. We are not supposed to live or do relationships like the people (non-believers) around us do. I believe the boyfriend/girlfriend stage during dating is doing more harm than good to God's plan to foster holiness and build his kingdom through covenant marriage.
God is black or white. A lot of the gray area in our walk with Christ is our flesh rising up against the spirit. Culture wants us to treat God's commandments as suggestions.
If your way of life is not building God's kingdom, then it is most definitely building the enemy's kingdom. So ask yourself, does the boyfriend/girlfriend stage during dating foster God's plan or the enemy's plan?
